My first encounter with a computer was instant love at first sight. At 4 years old, I was irresistibly drawn to that mysterious box and its black screen. I'm lucky to have had an uncle who owned one of these wonders and allowed me to explore it from an early age.
Dealing with curiosity and limitations, I learned the fascinating art of computer repair. My first PC failed just a few weeks after I owned it. Back then, there were no technical services available, nor were there any facilities for replacing a hard drive. It was a real challenge, but over time, I turned adversity into opportunity. I discovered how to fix my own equipment, adjust parts, and even discovered computer tricks I found in manuals and tutorials at internet cafes.
It was around that time that "Dr. PC" was born. My uncle, the same one who introduced computers to my life, printed my first business cards. I still remember the details: "DR. PC, PC Repair, Formatting, Virus Removal, Updates, etc." When I was about 15, I got off the bus in Mapocho, went around stores handing out my business cards, and that's how I got my first clients.
Time passed, and little by little, I gained recognition. Neighbors and relatives who were having problems with their equipment turned to me, the friendly Doctor PC. This was my first source of income, allowing me to become independent from a very young age.
Every time I felt I'd mastered a topic, I'd venture onto another. By the age of 20, I already had extensive experience in computers, servers, telecommunications, websites, cybersecurity, and more.
My first entrepreneurial venture was Cut Security, a cybersecurity company. However, back then, demand wasn't as high as it is today. Although I offered protection and recovery for hacked sites, as well as vulnerability reporting, I encountered difficulties and eventually walked away from the business.
Around the age of 20, I struggled with a deep depression that made me question my direction. Despite the adversities, I persisted in working from my small rented room, using a netbook as my primary tool.
Life smiled on me when I managed to buy a better laptop. This marked a new beginning for "Asinem," my first "IT Consulting for Entrepreneurs" company. Due to legal issues with the name, I decided to change it to "Asinem." AIEM.
AIEM It evolved from a website to a company established in 2017. My first clients came through referrals, which allowed me to hire my first collaborator, Mauricio, who became my mentor during that period.
With dedication and effort, AIEM grew, despite initial mistakes. We discovered niche markets, developed websites, ventured into cybersecurity, and focused on talent over academic qualifications. Even young collaborators demonstrated surprising skills.
On August 6, 2022, we officially launched Grupotech, the umbrella that would house our four internal brands:
- AIEM – IT Specialist: IT experts and business support based on IT Service Management.
- Do It – Digital Solutions: Our Digital Marketing brand, covering everything from web development to sales strategies.
- Cut Security – Business ProtectionWe revived our pioneering cybersecurity company with specialized services.
- Devits – Developing Future: Our application development brand, providing solutions in various areas.
Grupotech It goes beyond being a business; it's my refuge, my connection with clients, my fight against depression, and my passion for learning. I'm grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey: team, collaborators, clients, friends, and competitors. We are a passionate team, driven by the desire to grow and help others do the same. Together, we are transforming dreams into realities, while continuing to learn and improve.
The story of Grupotech It doesn't end here; it's just the beginning. With humility, we understand that our knowledge is a drop, but it's a drop that nourishes us, motivates us, and makes us happy. And in this team, passion is the fundamental requirement.
